The Cherry Lane Theatre will present the New York premiere of Daisy Foote's Bhutan, which will receive a limited two-week engagement as part of the Cherry Lane's "Celebrating Women Playwrights" season from November 8 – 19 at 7PM. The show will be performed in the Cherry Lane's (38 Commerce St.) studio space.

Directed by Tony Award-nominee and Obie Award-winner Evan Yionoulis (The Violet Hour, Three Days of Rain), Bhutan will star Amy Redford, daughter of Robert Redford, in her NYC stage debut; she has appeared on screen and on TV in Maid in Manhattan, "Sex and the City," "Law & Order" and "The Sopranos." The cast will also include Sarah Lord, Tasha Lawrence and Jedadiah Schultz.

"Foote's drama follows a New England family's ups and downs after the death of their father," state press notes. "Frances Conroy wonders how she ended up here. Her mother is driving her crazy. Her aunt is stalking a married man. Her brother is in prison. She dreams of Bhutan but can barely find the kitchen door."

The show will feature lighting design by Pat Dignan, sound design by Bart Fasbender, set design by Laura Hyman, and costume design by Rebecca Bernstein.

Bhutan is playing at Cherry Lane's studio space while the Mainstage is being renovated. "We will preserve all the details that make us an intimate, neighborhood playhouse, while providing a more accessible and comfortable destination for our audiences, and a technically advanced workspace for our artists", says Artistic Director Angelina Fiordellisi. "When RENOVATE 38 is complete, we will be able to meet everyone's needs. During the renovation, we continue to produce new plays in our Studio Theatre."

Tickets for Bhutan are $20: call 212-989-2020 or visit www.cherrylanetheatre.org.
