Revels Houston invites the public to usher in the holidays on November 18 by toasting their upcoming performance. The community-based, nonprofit performing arts group is celebrating its 20th season and wants to thank their supporters for making each performance possible.

Spacetaker, a nonprofit dedicated to Houston arts, is hosting Revels Houston as part of its Cultured Cocktails series, held weekly at Boheme Café and Wine Bar. A portion of the evening's proceeds will benefit Revels Houston.

The happy hour is scheduled from 5 to 10 p.m. on Thursday, November 18 at the Cafe's 307 Fairview location in the Montrose neighborhood. The Revelry ensemble will perform, and fans will have the opportunity to meet the behind-the-scenes staff and learn more about the productions.

Jenni Rebecca Stephenson, executive director of Spacetaker, said she is thrilled to host Revels Houston. "I've been a big fan of Revels for years," she said. "I can remember dancing out of Stude Concert Hall, hand-in-hand with my friends and the other audience members the first time I attended. It was quite an introduction!"

In December, Revels Houston will present "The Christmas Revels: A Celtic Celebration of the Winter Solstice." Performances will draw from songs, dance, poetry, myths, stories and games of the Celtic regions of Europe, including Ireland, Scotland, Wales, France and England. Six performances will take place over two weekends, December 11-12 and December 18-19, on the University of Houston campus in the Wortham Theater, Cynthia Woods Mitchell Center for the Arts.
