Crowded Outlet, is proud to announce the New York premiere of Marisa Michelson's Marigold Chor Ensemble. Assembled by Michelson (Jonathan Larson Award Grant winner, Tamar of the River) and featuring many multi-hyphenate artistic creators, the experiment will be performed Sunday, October 16th at 5pm at Judson Memorial Church. Tickets are invitation-only.

After nearly a year of weekly explorations, the Marigolds are pleased to make their public debut. A collective of singer-dancers, -composers, -actors, -musicians, -writers, The Marigold Chor Ensemble explores composition as improvisation and improvisation as composition. The ensemble includes Marisa Michelson, Chad Goodridge (Obie Award, Passing Strange), Nikko Benson (2016 Jonathan Larson Award Grant winner, Nikola Tessa Drops the Beat), Jen Anaya (Tamar of the River), HeathCliff Saunders (NYMF Award for Best Musical, Best Lyrics, Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812), Ako (Kentucky), Tamrin Goldberg (Tamar of the River), Shaun Shafner (I'll Never Love Again), Nickolas Vaughn (Scheherezade), Troy Burton (Tamar of the River), Kalli Siamidou (Asters Team), as well as regular ensemble members Aubrey Johnson, Patrick Cragin, and Marina Pires, who will not be featured in this presentation.

Crowded Outlet is a not-for-profit development and producing organization in its inaugural year, committed to harnessing the creative powers of a variety of artistic voices and theatrical visions. The organization is run and operated by Wes Grantom (Lone Star Spirits, Eager to Lose) and Chad Goodridge (Passing Strange). Their first production, Lone Star Spirits by Josh Tobiessen and directed by Wes Grantom, was a NYTimes Critics Pick. Earlier in the year Crowded Outlet developed new work by Jeff Talbott (The Submission), Zakiyyah Alexander (10 Things to do before I die, Grey's Anatomy), Matt Dellapina (Deacon of the Bronx), Cori Thomas (When January Feels Like Summer), Alejandro Rodriguez, Lauren Whitehead, and Polly Lee (The Americans). Throughout the year Crowded Outlet will continue to develop work by the rest of the artists in their Surge Series, including new work by Emily Walton (Women without Men, The Shags), Matt Citron, Meghan Brown (The Pliant Girls) and Nikko Benson in collaboration with Chad Goodridge.

This presentation by Marisa Michelson's Chor Ensemble will be a one time only event on Sunday, October 16th at Judson Memorial Church.
