About Cristina Fontanelli
Cristina Fontanelli is an award-winning vocalist/entertainer of both classical and popular music. The New York Times has praised Ms. Fontanelli's singing as having "technical ease" and "flaunting bravura". The New York Sunhails Ms. Fontanelli as a "vocal genius". According to Forbes Magazine, "Cristina Fontanelli at Feinstein's is like seeing a cross between Maria Callas and Ethel Merman. She has no equal." She sings and entertains in 8 languages.

Ms. Fontanelli received the "Lifetime Achievement Award in the Arts" from the Order Sons of Italy in America (previous honoree, Luciano Pavarotti). She is a guest artist with the Boston Pops, the St. Louis Symphony, the Mantovani Orchestra (three world-tours) and has toured Japan, Korea and the Middle East. A list of the popular "giants" she has appeared with include Tony Bennett and Joel Grey. Ms. Fontanelli has appeared with opera companies including the Palm Beach Opera, the New York Grand Opera and the Cairo Opera. Recent appearances include her Hollywood CA debut hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, the Hilton in Atlantic City and the Columbus Day Parade on 5th Avenue NYC.

Her beautiful soprano voice has taken her to the White House for President Clinton, to the Presidential Inaugural Ball in 2005 for President George W. Bush, to Gracie Mansion in NYC and to the Governor's mansion in Princeton, NJ. She produces/performs an annual "Christmas in Italy" concert at Lincoln Center to support her Italian/American heritage and has appeared at Lincoln Center with stars from the Metropolitan Opera, St. Patrick's Cathedral, the Italian Embassy in Washington DC, the Rainbow Room, the Waldorf Astoria and the prestigious National Arts Club in NYC. In September of 2010 she will appear at the Pierre Hotel for Giorgio Gucci's 2nd visit to the United States.

Highly recognized, Ms. Fontanelli's accolades include winning her Italian operatic debut through the American Opera Auditions, being named "Woman of the Year" by the following: Ethnic Press Council of Toronto, the NYC Transit Authority Columbian Association, the Federation of Italian American Societies of New Jersey, and most recently the Salerno Club of NY State. She has been a guest on NY WQXR, NY WOR, Boston WGBH and Sirius. Televised appearances have included FOX, CNN, MSNBC, the Discovery Channel and PBS.

Ms. Fontanelli was born in Brooklyn and is a graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and has attended the Juilliard School in NY.
