...four one-legged men!, written and performed by Gary Corbin, will open at the Producers Club (358 W 44th Street) on October 5th, 2005, running through October 23rd.  Opening night is set for October 7th.

"...four one-legged men! is a bold, audacious and intensely dramatic one-man play peppered with lots of humor. It consists of four vignettes that depict four distinct amputees from different backgrounds, seasons and eras: 'A Day In The Life Of Jamie Prince' - a writer who visits his dying foster grandparent who is in a nursing home in the Winter of 2005; 'Rainbow'- a father in a visitation rights battle in the Spring of 1959; 'I'll Betcha That!'- a gay male on his way to a Fourth of July party in the Summer of 1990, but falls and breaks his artificial leg; 'Waiting for Oz' - a delusional Vietnam veteran on a psyche ward after returning from the battlefield in the Fall of 1969. The final vignette is performed without an artificial leg," according to press notes.  The show will be directed by William Martin.

A 30-year cancer survivor, Gary Corbin is an above-knee amputee and one of the country's most active physically challenged performers. A member of the award-winning Mad Hatters theatre company, he has toured the country as a performer and writer, working with the Negro Ensemble Company and the Baltimore Playwright's Festival, among others. He is also the recipient of playwriting awards from The Maryland State Arts Council and The New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA). He has appeared on TV in "Homicide: Life on the Streets" and in the films Summer of Sam and Malcolm  X.

The show's performance schedule is: Wed., Thurs. and Sun. at 7pm, and Fri. and Sat. at 8pm.

Tickets are $25 for the general public, and $15 for students and seniors.  For reservations, call (212)352-3101 or (866)811-4111, or visit theatermania.com.
