The work of songwriters Julia Meinwald and Eric March will be presented at the Parkside Lounge on Tuesday, July 6th.

Entitled Eric and Julia's Cheap Show, the 9:00 PM evening will feature a collection of songs spanning from rock to musical theatre songs. The evening will also include a preview of Meinwald's upcoming musical inspired by the real life pregnancy pact of several high school girls in Massachusetts, cowritten by lyricist Gordon Leary and currently in development with the Dramatist's Guild. The evening will feature the talents of Ally Bonino, Ellen Condon, Amy Linden, Lance Rubin (Bloodsong of Love), and Ryan Speakman.

Eric March is a playwright and composer whose work has been performed at the New York International Fringe Festival (Granola! The Musical), Ars Nova (Songs About Real Life) and a few other places. He is a member of the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theater Writing Workshop where he has received developmental readings of two musicals -- 312 13th St. and Battlestar: The Musical -- and Youngblood, The Ensemble Studio Theatre's group for emerging playwrights under 30. He is a pianist for Broadway's Next Hit Musical, a recurring improvised musical spectacular. He has worked as a contributing writer for The Onion, and is currently a staff writer for Comedy Central's Indecision and Insider blogs.

Julia's full-orchestra score for the computer game The Judgment of Quintus was recorded by the Davenport Pops last winter, and the game is expected for release in 2011. A proud participant in the New Dramatists 2008 Composer Librettist Development Program, Julia is now completing a residency with the American Lyric Theatre.
