Comedy Dynamics President Brian Volk-Weiss to Lead Panel at SF Sketchfest

Comedy Dynamics President Brian Volk-Weiss is confirmed to lead the first ever industry panel at SF Sketchfest. Titled Building Your Comedy Brand & Finding the Right Partner and moderated by Rob Baedeker (Kasper Hauser), the panel also includes Katie Levine (Nerdist), John Reichmuth (Kasper Hauser), Bruce Smith (Omnipop Talent Group) and Jesse Thorn (Maximum Fun Network).

The panel features some of the industry's most innovative artists, managers and producers and they'll be discussing the importance of developing your creative voice in comedy, discovering your 'brand' (it's not necessarily a dirty word) and finding a partners who understand your long term goals. Attendants will have the opportunity to ask questions during the panel and to meet the speakers at a special complimentary happy hour at the lounge, immediately following the conversation. SF Sketchfest begins today and the panel takes place Saturday, February 7th at 4pm at the Hotel Kabuki.

Brian Volk-Weiss is the President of Production for New Wave Entertainment, the largest independent producer and distributor of one-hour comedy specials in the United States. New Wave recently created and launched the Comedy Dynamics channel on Hulu, Roku, iOS, Android and Amazon devices. It opens the vault to New Wave's archives of stand-up specials, clips, behind-the-scenes footage and documentaries. Additionally, Comedy Dynamics allows comedy fans access to vintage specials from the '70s, '80s, and '90s through Comedy Dynamics Classics. SF Sketchfest was founded in 2001 by David Owen, Cole Stratton and Janet Varney as a way to showcase the talents of six Bay Area sketch comedy groups: The Fresh Robots, Kasper Hauser, The Meehan Brothers, Please Leave the Bronx, Totally False People and White Noise Radio Theatre. The 14th Annual SF Sketchfest boasts a line-up like no other covering 18 days and 20 venues. From a humble 80-seat theatre in year one back in 2002, this festival has become a beast expanding all over San Francisco attracting some of the biggest line ups of the sketch, stand-up, podcast, TV, and film worlds.
