Civic Theatre is proud to be the first theatre to produce the Tony Award-winning Rent in the Lehigh Valley. Jonathan Larson's critically-acclaimed show ended a twelve-year run in late 2008, making it the seventh-longest running show in Broadway history. The story of a group of artists and musicians struggling to live and love, survive AIDS, and pay their bills was also made into a major motion picture.

"We are absolutely honored to be the first theatre in the Valley to do RENT," says Civic Artistic Director William Sanders, who will be directing this production. "This show changed my life in the winter of 1996, and I look forward to finding a talented cast to make Civic's 'RENT'."

Civic Theatre will produce Rent in Civic's 19th Street Theatre from Friday, May 7th to Sunday, May 23rd. Tickets are currently on sale at www.CivicTheatre.com or by calling 610.432.8943. Please visit www.CivicTheatre.com for more information. To schedule an interview with Sanders, please contact Ryan Hill at Ryan@civictheatre.com or 610-433-8903 ext. 200.
