The John W. Engeman Theater at Northport announces its next special event in their ongoing Broadway Concert Series on Saturday, September 3rd at 8PM with Broadway Journey.
Produced exclusively for the John W. Engeman Theater by New York Casting Director Stephen DeAngelis, five of New York's finest performers will recreate some of their most memorable career highlights, display their great versatility and share amusing behind-the-scenes anecdotes. The Broadway Concert Series has to date showcased the talents of 100 different artists whose combined credits include the following accolades: 2 Tony Award wins, 22 Tony Award nominations, 8 Drama Desk Award wins, 38 Drama Desk Award nominations, 1 Emmy Award win and 5 Emmy Award nominations.Performers scheduled to appear are Tony Award winner Chuck Cooper (Finian's Rainbow; Lennon; Caroline, or Change; The Life; Chicago, Passion), Drama Desk Award winner Janet Dacal (Wonderland; In the Heights; Good Vibrations), Sarah Litzsinger (Beauty and the Beast; Les Miserables; Amour; Oliver!; Marilyn: An American Fable), Matthew Scott (Sondheim on Sondheim, Jersey Boys, A Catered Affair), Kissy Simmons (The Lion King). Musical Director/Accompanist for the evening will be Eugene Gwozdz.The John W. Engeman Theater at Northport is Long Island's only year round professional theater company, casting our actors from the Broadway talent pool.
