Cerveris, Clark and More Appear in 'Working in the Theater' Seminars

The "Working in the Theatre" Seminars, the popular series presented by The American Theater Wing, has announced air dates for the first two new shows of the new year.

"Producing Commercial Theatre" with producers Susan Gallin (The Retreat from Moscow, Woman Before a Glass), Elizabeth McCann (Well, Edward Albee's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?), Kevin McCollum (Avenue Q, Rent), David Stone (Wicked, 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), Tom Viertel (Sweeney Todd, Hairspray) and Moderator Ted Chapin, will debut Sunday January 8 at 5 pm on CUNY, and repeat on Saturday, January 14 at 11 am.

Actors on Performing with Michael Cerveris (Sweeney Todd), Victoria Clark (The Light in the Piazza), Jill Clayburgh (Barefoot in the Park), George Grizzard (Seascape), Brian F. O'Byrne (Doubt) and moderator Pia Lindstrom will premiere on Sunday, January 15 at 5 pm and repeats Saturday, January 21 at 11 am.

Both programs then enter the regular rotation on CUNY TV.  These programs, like all of the ATW multimedia, are available as free, on demand viewing from the website
www.americantheatrewing.org concurrent with their first airdates of each program.

"Now in their 31st year, the ATW 'Working in the Theatre' panels bring together theatre's best known performers, producers, playwrights, directors, choreographers, composers, agents and others.  The seminars are held throughout the theatre season in cooperation with Continuing Education and Public Programs at The Graduate Center of the City University of New York. Leadership support for the American Theatre Wing Seminars is provided by The Annenberg Foundation and The Dorothy Strelsin Foundation.  The American Theatre Wing (Sondra Gilman, Chairman; Doug Leeds, President and Howard Sherman, Executive Director), through its many programs, remains dedicated to celebrating excellence and supporting education in theatre, for students, professionals and audiences alike," according to press notes.

The "Working in the Theatre" Seminar series is broadcast five times a week on CUNY-TV (Time Warner and Cablevision channel 75: Fridays 9am, 2pm, 7pm; Saturdays at 11am & Sundays at 5pm as well as on RCN either Channel 24, 106 or 109, depending upon area).
