Cast and Crew of AMERICAN BUFFALO Collaborating on 'Backstage' Web Series

The cast, crew, and creative team of the upcoming Broadway production of David Mamet’s masterpiece, American Buffalo, are collaborating on a web series, called “American Buffalo: Backstage,” which presents audiences with a rare view of what really happens backstage, in rehearsal, and outside of rehearsal on a major production.  In addition to footage shot by the cast, the series features interviews with the cast, producers, and members of the production’s creative team.  New videos will be released each day.

Viewers may access the “American Buffalo: Backstage” series through the production’s official YouTube Channel, https://www.youtube.com/americanbuffalo2008.  The videos will also be featured on American Buffalo’s MySpace page, http://www.myspace.com/americanbuffalobroadway, and on its Facebook group.  American Buffalo’s YouTube channel, MySpace profile and Facebook group are all accessible from the show’s official website: http://www.americanbuffalobroadway.com.

David Mamet’s classic American comedic drama American Buffalo, directed by Tony Award winner Robert Falls and starring Tony Award nominee John Leguizamo, and in their Broadway debuts, Cedric The Entertainer and Academy Award nominee Haley Joel Osment, follows three small-time crooks who wax philosophically about society while conspiring to steal a rare and valuable coin from a neighborhood collector.  Volcanic and motor mouthed Teach (Leguizamo) schemes and spars with fatherly, street-smart junk shop owner Donny (Cedric The Entertainer) enlisting Bobby (Osment), a slow-witted and desperate young delinquent, to carry out their misbegotten robbery. A hilarious, banter-fueled heist comedy and a heartbreaking portrait of criminal desperation, American Buffalo’s all-star cast is powered by David Mamet’s stark, rapid-fire, uniquely American and unforgettable dialogue.

American Buffalo begins previews at Broadway’s Belasco Theatre on Friday, October 31, and opens on Monday, November 17.
