Carolyn Dorfman Dance will appear at NJPAC on May 14th, 7:30 pm at the Victoria Theater. Featuring the innovative choreography of Founding Artistic Director Carolyn Dorfman, NJPAC co-produced the premiere of her newest work The Hero Within: The Story of Max Heller, Mary Mills and Miracles and will include the pulsating NOW!, commissioned work by former CDD dancer and popular choreographer Juel D. Lane, and Dorfman's ECHAD, an internationally acclaimed masterpiece which explores the delicate balance between the individual and the community.
Founded in 1982, Carolyn Dorfman Dance has 12 full-time dancers. The company includes Maiko Adela, Kayleigh Bowen, Tyler Choquette, Hannah Gross, TJ Hammond, Brandon Jones, Jacob Kurihara, Mika Miranda, Aanyse Pettiford-Chandler, Dominique Dobransky Pier, Charles Scheland and Jared Stern.
As Carolyn Dorfman states, "This evening of dance theater, The Power of One, illuminates the extraordinary impact of individual acts and the power of collective action."
You are invited to come and be inspired by the stories, the passion, and the enduring message that one person, one voice and one act can change everything. With the powerful physicality of the dancers and the emotional clarity of the works, come Move Human with CDD.
