Carmello, White & Davis Join Bway Musicals of 1978, 6/19

Three more stars have joined the lineup for the June 19th concert at Town Hall celebrating the music born on Broadway in 1978. The latest "Broadway by the Year" show, which will take place at Town Hall on Monday, June 19th at 8 PM, will feature Lestat's Tony-nominated star, Carolee Carmello, as well as Ring of Fire's three-time Grammy winning star, Lari White, and the original Motormouth Maybelle from Hairspray, Mary Bond Davis.

The Broadway Musicals of 1978 will conclude the sixth season of Town Hall's critically acclaimed "Broadway by the Year" series. The creator/writer/host of "Broadway by the Year," Scott Siegel said, "I'm still not finished hiring terrific talent. The cast, which already stands at eleven great stars, will expand still further." Siegel currently boasts a cast for the June 19th show that also includes Bryan Batt (who is also directing the concert), Chuck Cooper, Felicia Finley, Julie Garnye, Nancy Opel, Noah Racey, Christine Pedi, and Lennie Watts.

"I'm excited about matching this incredible cast up with the music from 1978," said Siegel. They'll be singing songs from show like Ain't Misbehavin', Ballroom, Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Eubie, On the Twenthieth Century, Runaways, Working, and others!

There are still limited $45 and $40 tickets left for the show. They can be bought at The Town Hall box office between noon and 6 PM every day but Sunday. Town Hall is at 123 W. 43rd Street. Tickets can also be purchased at TicketMaster.com or by phone at 212-307-4100.
