Camerata New York Performs Beethoven's Triumphant 5th Symphony Camerata New York, now in its 19th season, will be in Merkin Hall on Tuesday, April 9, at 8 pm; performing the eternal masterpiece Beethoven's 5th Symphony - The most identifiable composition in all classical music and inspiring testimony to man's triumph over fate.

"It is a thrilling opportunity for myself, the orchestra and the audience, to recreate Beethoven's most famous musical masterpiece. After 19 years, we finally will present Beethoven's extraordinary musical and emotional struggle against his fate of deafness and the triumph of joy and optimism!," said Richard Owen, Camerata New York's co-founder and music director.

Camerata New York will also perform Rossini's famous La Gazza Ladra Overture; and Fryderyk Chopin's beautiful Piano Concerto No. 1. The Chopin concerto will feature the soloist winner of the Leschetizky Association's piano competition taking place April 6-7 in New York City.

"We are also excited to once again showcase the Leschetizky piano competition winner, who will be selected from extraordinarily talented entrants who are 17 years and younger," said Richard Owen.
