Liz Callaway will replace Rachel York in the cast of The Broadway Musicals of 1962, the latest entry in the Broadway by the Year series at Town Hall.  York withdrew due to her upcoming role as Mother in the Paper Mill Playhouse production of Ragtime, which starts performances on June 8th.

The concert will be held on June 13th at 8 PM, and marks the directorial debut of Bryan Batt, currently the Albin standby in La Cage aux Folles.
"I am thrilled to have Bryan Batt directing our season finale," said Scott Siegel, who created, writes and hosts the series. "He's appeared in several of the concerts and, like Marc Kudisch and Emily Skinner who also directed these shows, he is creative, inventive, and fully understands what we're trying to convey to our audience. Bryan also brings something very specific to this show."

Brad Oscar, Felicia Finley, Danny Gurwin, Christine Pedi and Scott Coulter round out the cast; they will perform songs from A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Stop the World I Want to Get Off, I Can Get it for You Wholesale and All American.

Siegel is also expected to announce the date of the next Broadway Unplugged concert at The Broadway Musicals of 1962. Similar to its rock music counterpart, the first Unplugged featured performers singing without any kind of amplification.  The first was held on Sept. 27, 2004, and featured  Stephanie J. Block, Debbie Gravitte and Alice Ripley.

Callaway was nominated for a Tony Award for her performance in 1983's Baby, and she has also appeared on Broadway in the Bacharach revue The Look of Love, Miss Saigon, The Three Musketeers, Cats and in the original cast of Merrily We Roll Along; she participated in the anniversary concert of the latter Sondheim show.  She was also in the recent Actor's Fund Benefit Hair concert, and Callaway's CDs include
The Beat Goes On, and The Story Goes On.  She was the singing voice for the title role in the animated film Anastasia, and has also leant her voice to The Swan Princess and The Lion King II: Simba's Pride.

Town Hall is located in Manhattan at 123 West 43rd Street.
