Theatre lovers can now place pre-bids for Grand and Silent Auction items that are being offered as part of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS' 20th Annual Broadway Flea Market and Grand Auction.

The Flea Market and Grand Auction will take place on Sunday, September 24th from 10 AM through 7 PM at Shubert Alley and 44th St.

"The Broadway Flea Market, held each September in Shubert Alley, brings out the biggest and brightest stars from Broadway, Off-Broadway, Dance and daytime television to greet fans and sell memorabilia. Casts and company members of dozens of shows are joined by theatrical unions and guilds, producing organizations, local merchants, and many other groups to sell costume pieces, autographs, original scripts, rare photographs, and so much more," according to notes on the BC/EFA website.

"The event also includes the Celebrity Table, where celebrities gather throughout the day to sign autographs and pose for photos in exchange for donations. The highlight of the Flea Market is the Grand Auction, in which singular items and opportunities such as walk-on roles in Broadway shows, television programs and films are available to the highest bidder."

The Grand (Live) Auction will offer auctions that include chances to: make a walk-on appearance in Rent, meet Anthony Rapp, have dinner with Barrett Foa after catching a performance of Spelling Bee, spend a day with The Phantom of the Opera, be interviewed by Jiminy Glick at Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me, and much more.

Silent Auction items up for pre-sale include memorabilia autographed by cast members of shows such as Wicked, Sweeney Todd, A Chorus Line and The Threepenny Opera, among others.

Items listed will be for sale at the Live Auction on Sunday, September 24th at 4:30 PM in Shubert Alley. The order of the auction will differ from the preview list.

Bids may be placed now by those who cannot attend--either directly on-line or via phone by calling Skip Lawing at 212-840-0770 Ext. 268. Lawing can also answer any questions about an auction lot.

The final Live Auction list, including the order in which items will go up for bid, will be posted on Friday, September 22nd. On-line and phone bids will close on Saturday, September 23rd at 4:00 PM.
