Tony Award-winner Norbert Leo Butz and the cast of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels will perform "Great Big Stuff," on Thursday, November 24th as part of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, which will be broadcast on NBC.

The Scoundrels will even
be bringing the show's lavish staircase set-piece to Herald Square for this special event. For the telecast, composer/lyricist David Yazbek had to substantially rewrite the song's lyrics, in order to make the performance "family (and telecast) friendly."

"My ancestor, Ebenezer Yazbek, was the loblolly boy on the
Mayflower. I dedicate these new Puritan-friendly lyrics to his memory," commented Yazbeck, who also wrote the score of The Full Monty.

Butz (The Last Five Years, Rent, Thou Shalt Not) plays the endearingly scheming Freddy Benson in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. In the musical, which is set on the French Riviera, the vulgar Freddy becomes the protege and then the rival of suave conman Lawrence Jamison.

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels won the 2005 Drama League Award as Best Musical, and was nominated for 11 Tony Awards. With a book by Jeffrey Lane and music and lyrics by Yazbek, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels stars John Lithgow, Norbert Leo Butz, Joanna Gleason, Gregory Jbara and Sara Gettelfinger; Tony Award-winner Jonathan Pryce will replace Lithgow on January 17th. The production is directed by two-time Tony Award winner Jack O'Brien and choreographed by Tony Award-winner Jerry Mitchell.
