Broadway's Sachi Shimizu Dies at 58

According to Variety, Broadway chorus girl Sachi Shimizu passed away on November 1 in West Milford, New Jersey.  Shimizu lost a battle to cancer- she was 58 years old.  She is survived byher husband, Ron Kurowski; her mother; two brothers; and a sister.  

Shimizu started her career in musical theatre at the age of 16. She appeared in the ensemble of  "Lovely Ladies, Kind Gentlemen" and "Hello Dolly" featuring Pearl Bailey. She also appeared in te touring production of "Seesaw" and "A Chorus Line," which she starred as Connie Wong until 1990.

A memorial will be held for Shimizu on December 5 at the Bitter End, 147 Bleeker St. Contact 862-221-2748 for tickets.
