Jujamcyn Theaters has announced the featured cast of this season's Broadway production of A Catered Affair, the new musical with book by four-time Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein, score by John Bucchino and directed by Tony Award-winner John Doyle.  Opening night has officially been set for Thursday, April 17, 2008 at a Jujamcyn Theater to-be-announced.  Preview performances will begin on Tuesday, March 25, 2008.

Joining the previously announced stars Faith Prince, Tom Wopat, Harvey Fierstein and Leslie Kritzer will be Philip Hoffman, Katie Klaus, Heather MacRae, Lori Wilner and Kristine Zbornik.

Prior to Broadway, A Catered Affair will inaugurate the 2007-8 Season at San Diego's Old Globe Theatre (performances begin September 20, 2007), according to producer Jordan Roth (Vice President, Jujamcyn Theaters).

"Theater enthusiasts will recognize these stage favorites from their myriad appearances on Broadway and beyond.  Philip Hoffman's Broadway credits include Fiddler on the Roof and Ring Round the Moon, as well as being a veteran of the original casts of Into the Woods, Baby, Is There Life After High School? and Falsettos, among others.  Katie Klaus most recently appeared in the Broadway revival of Inherit the Wind and earlier this year as 'Young Sally' in the lauded New York City Center Encores! presentation of Follies.  Heather MacRae's Broadway credits include her memorable turn as the original 'Dr. Charlotte' in Falsettos, Coastal Disturbances and the original cast of Hair.  Lori Wilner appeared opposite Mr. Fierstein's 'Tevye' as 'Golde' in the recent revival of Fiddler on the Roof. Kristine Zbornik is revered for her many classic comic turns in Forbidden Broadway," state press notes.

A Catered Affair is "set in The Bronx, 1953.  Funny, heartbreaking and oh so human, the musical reveals relationships strained to their limits when a couple must decide whether to spend their life savings on a family business or to launch their only daughter's marriage with a lavish catered affair.  Harvey Fierstein's book and John Bucchino's score seize the opportunity to explore the meaning of family and the need for love, both new and reawakened."

A Catered Affair will be produced on Broadway by Jujamcyn Theaters, Jordan Roth, Harvey Entertainment/Ron Fierstein, Richie Jackson and Daryl Roth.  The musical is based on the Turner Entertainment motion picture distributed by Warner Brothers and written by Gore Vidal, and the original teleplay by Paddy Chayefsky.

Casting for the role of 'Ralph' (The Groom) and the complete design team will be announced shortly.
