Broadway Artists Alliance Announces Complete Fall/Winter Schedule ; Blackwell and Balderrama to Teach

Broadway Artists Alliance, the dynamic not-for-profit educational organization that is gaining a reputation for ensuring the future of great Broadway talent by bringing together Broadway artists and promising young performers announces their 2008/2009 series of  monthly master classes.  Each one-day master class is based on the theme of a current Broadway show.  A cast member from the original or current Broadway cast will lead a vocal performance or dance class in the morning, and a representative from the respective casting agency for each show will instruct an audition technique class in the afternoon.

Upcoming master classes include:

In the Heights  – Saturday, September 20, 2008 (led by Gypsy Robe Winner, Michael Balderrama)

South Pacific – Sunday, October 28, 2008
Gypsy – Sunday, November 23, 2008
13 – Saturday, December 13, 2008
Billy Elliot – Sunday, December 14, 2008
Hairspray­ ­– Sunday, December 28, 2008
Wicked – Saturday, January 19, 2009
Spring Awakening – Monday, January 21, 2009 (Martin Luther King Day)

 
Additional master classes will be scheduled for Spring 2009 including Shrek, Legally Blonde, West Side Story, and many more!  The Spring schedule will be announced in early October.

Past Broadway Artists Alliance master class instructors include John Gallagher Jr. (Spring Awakening), Stephen Schwartz (Wicked), Skylar Astin (Spring Awakening), Ashley Brown (Mary Poppins), Michelle Federer (Wicked), Jason Gillman (Legally Blonde), TyRick Jones (Hairspray), Jason Robert Brown (Parade), Michelle Kittrell (Legally Blonde), Norm Lewis (The Little Mermaid), Andrea Martin (Young Frankenstein), Megan McGinnis (Les Miserables), Lea Michele (Spring Awakening), Heather Parcells (A Chorus Line), and Lisa Stevens (High School Musical), and Kelli O'Hara (South Pacific).

Broadway Artists Alliance recently completed their two-week Musical Theatre Summer Intensive and an advanced three-day Summer Workshop which featured an array of guest master class instructors and speakers including Laura Benanti, Norbert Leo Butz, Marc Shaiman, Seth Rudetsky, Kelli O'Hara, and Beth Leavel.
