Andrew Lloyd Webber and a collection of theatre stars, including Connie Fisher and Lee Mead – two of the West End stars he discovered – took part in a portion of the "Concert for Diana" at Wembley Stadium, Sunday July 1.  Webber's segment of the concert began at 6:45PM.

According to WhatsonStage.com, "in addition to The Sound of Music's Fisher and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat's Mead, the composer was joined by Anastacia, Andrea Bocelli, Sarah Brightman, Jason Donovan, Josh Groban, Andrea Ross and Donny Osmond. The principal singers were backed by a 24-strong choir from Chickenshed's Children's Theatre, of which Diana was a patron."

Before the Webber segment began, a video featured Webber, Elaine Page and Brightman discussing their experiences meeting Diana.

First was Anastacia performing "Jesus Christ Superstar," then Fisher sang "Memory" from Cats joined by Webber's latest discovery, 16 year-old Ross.

Bocelli performed "Music of the Night" from The Phantom of the Opera.  Following, Brightman and Groban sang the Phantom duet "All I Ask of You."

To end the show Osmond, Donovan and Mead and a children's choir, sang "Any Dream Will Do" from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.  Webber made an appearance at curtain call.

The concert, marking the 10th anniversary of Diana's tragically early death, was organized by her sons, Princes William and Harry.  Diana would have turned 46 on July 1.  The concert was broadcast from 3.30PM to 10PM on both BBC One and BBC Radio Two.  Funds from the concert were given to charities that Princess Diana supported, as well as charities of which her sons are patrons. Also appearing in "Concert for Diana" was Bryan Ferry, Duran Duran, Elton John, The Feeling, James Morrison, Joss Stone, Kanye West, Lily Allen, Natasha Bedingfield, Nelly Furtado, Orson, P Diddy, Pharrell Williams, Rod Stewart, Roger Hodgson of Supertramp, Take That, Tom Jones, Status Quo, Will Young and the English National Ballet.

A Tony Award-winning composer as well as theater owner and impresario, Webber's many shows include The Phantom of the Opera, Cats, Evita, Jesus Christ Superstar, Aspects of Love, Sunset Boulevard and Whistle Down the Wind.
