In a recent interview regarding the upcoming SNOOPY benefit on Monday, May told BroadwayWorld.com that he is currently in talks with the "powers that be" about reprising his role as Bat Boy/Edgar. The production is slated to be mounted in Leeds with rehearsals beginning in May. Deven May received a Lucille Lortel Award nomination for Best Actor in a Musical, A Drama Desk nomination for Outstanding Actor in a Musical, and he won the 2001 Theater World Award for Outstanding New York Debut when he originated the role Off-Broadway. BAT BOY THE MUSICAL made its Off Broadway debut at the Union Square Theatre on March 3, 2001 to rave reviews, and played its final performance on Sunday, December 2, 2001.
