Soul Understated will bring its high-energy soul show back to the Blue Note for the first time in over a year, on Tuesday May 15, 2012, with sets at 8:00PM & 10:30PM. Soul Understated will feature singer Mavis "Swan" Poole.

Soul Understated features a diverse and eclectic mix of musical forces. These forces combined create a concept of music that allows each angle of the band to be independent yet part of a total musical thought. The group derives elements from gospel, R&B, and popular music.

Poole has sung back-up for artists such as Lauryn Hill and soul singer N'Dambi. Special guests for this performance include pianist Brian Jackson, known for his work with Gil Scott-Heron.

The Blue Note's doors open at 6PM for the event, with table tickets at $15, and bar tickets at $10. The Blue Note is located at 131 W 3rd. St, New York, NY 10012.
