Blazer Joins Gets & Ferguson in Out on Stage Benefit, 5/8

Out on Stage, a benefit for the New York City Gay Men's Chorus that will be presented on May 8th, will feature a number of Broadway favorites. It will take place at the Penthouse Lobby of the American Airlines Theatre (227 W. 42nd St.).

Joining the previously-announced Malcolm Gets, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, as well as Craig Chester and Dar Williams, will be Judy Blazer (Me and My Girl, Titanic) and Uptown Express. Gets, with his Adam and Steve co-star Chester, will host the 6:30 PM silent auction, which will offer "75 must-have trips, tix, fashion and collectibles." Ferguson, Blazer and singer/songwriter Williams will perform in the benefit; entertainment begins at 8 PM.

Gets, who recently appeared in the romantic comedy film Adam and Steve, has been seen on Broadway in Amour and The Moliere Comedies, as well as Off-Broadway in Finian's Rainbow, A New Brain, Hello Again, Merrily We Roll Along and others. Gets, who appeared at Encores! in The Boys from Syracuse and The Apple Tree, is best known to TV audiences for his work on "Caroline in the City."

Ferguson previously appeared on Broadway in On the Town and was recently seen in the Actors' Fund benefit concert of On the Twentieth Century. His off-Broadway credits include Where Do We Live?, Michael John LaChiusa's Little Fish, Newyorkers and Kean (as well as in the pre-Broadway On the Town at the Public Theatre).

"The New York City Gay Men's Chorus (NYCGMC) is the longest standing member of Big Apple Performing Arts, having just celebrated its 25th Anniversary in 2005. New York City Gay Men's Chorus now comprises 250 voices, appearing in three subscription concerts each year, moving between Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall and the other world-class venues of New York City," according to the Big Apple Performing Arts' website.
