Beth Leavel, Corbin Bleu Win 2019 St. Louis Theatre Circle Awards

The 2019 St. Louis Theatre Circle Awards were handed out tonight and among the winners were Broadway notables Beth Leavel and Corbin Bleu.

Tony Award-winner Leavel, who is currently starring in Broadway's new musical The Prom, was awarded Outstanding Actress In A Musical for her portrayal of Mama Rose in Gypsy at The Muny.

Corbin Bleu, who can currently be seen in the Broadway revival of Kiss Me, Kate, was awarded Outstanding Actor In A Musical for his role in another Muny production, Singin' In The Rain.

Beth Leavel is a Tony, Drama Desk, OCC, L.A. Drama Critics award winner for her performance as the title role in The Drowsy Chaperone. Her other Broadway credits include Baby It's You! (Tony, Drama Desk, OCC award nominations), Bandstand, Elf, Mamma Mia!, Young Frankenstein, 42nd Street, Crazy for You, The Civil War, Show Boat.

Corbin Bleu is best known for playing Chad Danforth in Disney's Emmy Award-winning "High School Musical" franchise. He was most recently seen on Broadway as Ted Hanover in Roundabout Theatre Company's Tony-nominated production of Irving Berlin's Holiday Inn. His performance in Holiday Inn won Bleu the Chita Rivera Award for Outstanding Male Dancer in a Broadway Show. Additional Broadway credits include: Godspell (Jesus) and In the Heights (Usnavi).
