Bay Street At The Parrish Presents Final Weekend Of Laughs, 7/31

After a successful inaugural season in 2009, BAY STREET @ THE PARRISH returns this summer with two fabulous shows coming to the intimate space that Bay Street christened last summer at the Parrish Art Museum in Southampton. This year Bay Street @ The Parrish opens its summer season with MY SON THE WAITER, A JEWISH TRAGEDY, running for 2 weekends only-Fridays and Saturdays July 23- 24 and July 30-31.

In MY SON THE WAITER, A JEWISH TRAGEDY, Brad Zimmerman weaves an intricate and bittersweet tale of one man's lengthy struggle to make it as an actor in New York. PArt Theatre, part stand-up, his homey send-ups on his childhood, family, career and misbegotten love life are as warm and poignant as they are hilarious. Zimmerman, who had a role on the hit HBO series, "The Sopranos", has worked with some of the most recognizable names in comedy, even serving as the opening act for both George Carlin and Joan Rivers. Says Ms. Rivers, "I've had 3 great opening acts in my lifetime: Billy Crystal, Garry Shandling, and Brad Zimmerman."
In August, the fun continues with the hilarious musical musings of three sisters who are incapable of staying out of trouble. On Fridays and Saturdays, August 20 - 21 and August 27 - 28, its 3 GIRLS, 3 GUITARS, 3 CHORDS: THE CHALKS, a hilarious musical about the lives of three sisters who have spent their careers as a trio-- performing, touring, and bailing one another out of trouble and jail. Fresh from their ‘tour bus arrest' after an altercation at a recent concert, Judeen, Judelle and Belva Chalk must perform a one-time-only ‘Community Service' show before being allowed to leave town. The girls bicker, tattle-tell and fist fight on stage as they share stories of glitterized ankle monitors, sado-masochistic affairs, and more. The Chalk sisters take the term ‘dysfunctional family' to a whole new level!

This past winter, THE CHALKS was featured as a ‘work-in-progress' musical at Bay Street's THE WORKSHOPS, sponsored in part by the Lucille Lortel Foundation. After a successful live performance for the public following a week of fine-tuning the act, THE CHALKS received rave reviews making it an obvious choice for this summer as part of Bay Street @ The Parrish.

All performances take place at 8pm at the Parrish Art Museum, 25 Job's Lane in Southampton. Tickets are $35 and can be purchased at www.baystreet.org or by calling the Bay Street Box Office at 631-725-9500, or in person at the Box Office on the Long Wharf, Sag Harbor, open daily from 11am to 6pm.
