The Awesome 80s Prom, the acclaimed Off-Broadway hit where "parachute pants and prom dresses are still encouraged," will celebrate its second anniversary on September 9th.

New York audiences continue to party like it's 1989 at the famed nightclub, Webster Hall. The show also continues in Chicago, with future productions planned for Las Vegas, Miami, and Japan.

The Awesome 80s Prom is a brand new interactive experience in the style of Tony n' Tina's Wedding and The Donkey Show set at the Wanaget High's Senior Prom in 1989. The prom is full of 80s movie types, everyone from the Captain of the Football Team to the Asian Exchange Student to the Geek and the hottie Head Cheerleader are in attendance. Each with a single goal in their sights: Prom King and Queen. The audience decides who wins at each performance.

The Awesome 80s Prom was conceived and directed by Ken Davenport and written by Davenport and "The Class of 1989", a group of performers including Sheila Berezan, Alex Back, Adam Bloom, Anne Bobby, Courtney Balan, Nicole Cicchella, Mary Faber, Stephen Guarino, Jeff Hiller, Emily McNamara, Troy Metcalf, Jenna Pace, Amanda Ryan Paige, Brian Peterson, Jessica West Regan, Kathy Searle, Mark Shunock, Josh Walden, Noah Weisberg, Brandon Williams, Simon Wong and Fletcher Young. Davenport is also a producer of Altar Boyz, currently launching a national tour and continuing at Off-Broadway's New World Stages.

The Awesome 80s Prom plays Saturday evenings at Webster Hall (125 East 11th Street), www.websterhall.com. Prom is at 8 PM; doors, dancing and Duran Duran from 7:30 PM. Tickets are from $49.99. After the prom, party all night at Webster Hall for free with each paid admission. For tickets call at 212-352-3101 or visit www.awesome80sprom.com.
