After two sell out seasons, the Australian cult hit The October Sapphire will be part of the 10th annual New York International Fringe Festival - Fringe NYC. It will be seen at the Harry De Jur Playhouse - 466 Grand Street - from August 12th through 18th.

"The October Sapphire is a bizarre, intricate tale chock-full of wit, charisma and musical genius. It's the Story of a ruined mansion and its chief inhabitant Rafaella Lonnigan, a once beautiful, now crazy, former movie star. Hidden in her dresser is a magic sapphire that contains a singing genie. As the story unfolds and wishes are granted, we encounter a back-talking Mexican puppet that lives in a closet, a male nurse with a lisp, an innocent teenage girl with a dark past, a murderous orphan hell bent on revenge, and a chorus of gorgeous Greek Furies! The quick paced plot unfolds with laughter, love triangles and pure entertainment," according to press notes.

The play is written and directed by popular Australian playwright Nick Coyle, with music by "Australian indie pop prince," Andy Clockwise. The cast comprises Kate Blackmore, Nicholas Coyle, Alisha Gaddis, Simon Greiner, Ben Harrison, Andy Kelly, Hetty Marriott-Brittan, Claudia O'Doherty and Tiffany Preece. The October Sapphire is produced by Nicholas Coles and Amelia Pulsford.

The show will play: 8/12 at 10pm; 8/13 at 1pm; 8/15 at 7:15pm; 8/17 at 6:45pm; and 8/18 at 4:15pm.

All tickets are $15. For tickets, visit www.FringeNYC.org or call (in New York): (212) 279-4488 or (outside New York): 1-888-FringeNYC.  Visit www.theoctobersapphire.com for more information.
