Featuring an extraordinary array of exceptional talent, the new season of Kupferberg Presents will bring a host of big name performers to the heart of Queens.

The season will showcase artists from the worlds of pop, jazz and dance. Kicking it all off on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Colden Auditorium in her only New York City performance this fall is the incomparable Broadway legend Audra McDonald. She has been dubbed a "one-of-a-kind musical super talent" by The New York Times.

Pop icon Cyndi Lauper brings her "She's So Unusual 30th Anniversary Tour" to her hometown of Queens where she will perform her debut album in its entirety, including the album's four Top-5 hits when she comes to Colden Auditorium on Sunday, October 20. This incredibly versatile GRAMMY, Tony, and Emmy Award-winning artist hails from nearby Ozone Park.

Additional artists who will be headlining at Queens College this season include the Brazilian dance sensation Balé Folclórico da Bahia, as well as the Queens debut of the spectacular Holiday Pops with Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra. Also featured will be renowned singer, songwriter and R&B legend Valerie Simpson of the hit-making duo Ashford and Simpson. In February, Ballet Hispanico, the nation's leading Latino dance organization, will present two riveting performances. Valentine's Day will showcase a very special evening of song by Broadway star and cabaret artist Christine Andreas. A performance by the esteemed Tony Award winner and Kennedy Center honoree, Barbara Cook, will round out the season. Additional events to the season schedule are also being planned. Funding and support for Kupferberg Presents is provided by the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, Queens College/CUNY, New York Community Bank, and the Max and Selma Kupferberg Foundation.

"We are very proud of the range of high-profile events that we are bringing to the Queens community this season," said Leon Denmark, Artistic Director of Kupferberg Presents.
