Renowned American artist Marc Dennis will present "An American in London," an exhibition of eight paintings at an exclusive event held in London at internationally famous designer Christopher Guy's flagship Showroom on Tuesday, March 10th from 5pm until 9.30pm. The one night event celebrates Design Week 2015, which commences on March 8th, 2015.

Design Week celebrates and promotes London as the design capital of the world, and as the gateway to the international creative community. Mr. Guy was introduced to Mr. Dennis through Jonathan Boreham and Michael MacDermott, both of Integrated Placement, a Hollywood based media company. Mr. Boreham and Mr. MacDermott felt the two were destined to work together. Shortly after their introduction, Mr. Guy and Mr. Dennis discovered a rather profound fondness for one another's work, and decided a pairing of their creations would indeed make for a visually striking and conceptually seductive event.

Dennis' slightly voyeuristic and subtly staged paintings are about the psychological, spiritual and physical relationships people have with art. With skilled precision, cleverness and artistic prowess, the artist introduces us to an alternate reality rich with narrative, hype and humor, where art and pop culture intersect. Influenced by European masters such as Velázquez, Manet, Magritte, and including American artist Norman Rockwell, he cleverly combines various movements throughout the western art historical canon in order to create witty, provocative and symbolic paintings through the use of modern tropes. Like a hip hop track, Dennis samples different artists, viewers, angles and poses to engage us in a meta narrative loaded with satirical juxtapositions that play on our preconceptions on contemporary culture and our relationship with beauty.

The exhibit "An American in London," pairing Marc Dennis' paintings with Christopher Guys' brand should make for a wondrous and enchanting feast for the eyes and mind. The event will take place in The Design Centre at Chelsea Harbour. It is a dazzling space providing the ideal environment for 102 showrooms and over 500 international interior brands. At over 145,000 square feet, it is the largest of its kind in Europe and well-established as a leading design destination.

Christopher Guy Harrison, an award winning, internationally renowned furniture designer, is the founder and CEO of the luxury furnishings brand, Christopher Guy. Born in Britain, raised in Spain and France, now residing between Singapore, LA and London, Christopher's international background helps him view the world through a critically constructive eye and transcribes through to his creations. Christopher began designing in the mid 1990s when he set out to launch a mirror frame collection that was particularly large in size. When he decided to create furniture, Christopher started with a clear objective to make unique, beautiful, decorative furnishings that appeal to a global audience. Chris then relocated to Indonesia where he set up the factory among the traditional carving villages surrounded by the lush Javanese forests.

Today, the Christopher Guy workshop in Central Java has grown to cover 1 million square feet of land. Those who first set eyes on the site will believe it to be a vast, centuries-old Spanish monastery, but this extraordinary structure was designed and built to reflect the sense of mystique and drama prevalent in the brand's products. Stockists are found around the world in 40 cities, including showrooms throughout North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. In 2014, Christopher Guy launched its flagship London showroom in London's Design Centre Chelsea Harbour as well as refurnishing Harrods' premier restaurant, The Georgian.
