Ars Nova to Hold Lippa Benefit, 11/22

Ars Nova (Jason Eagan, Artistic Director; Jeremy Blocker, Managing Director) proudly announces a fall benefit concert celebrating composer Andrew Lippa (The Addams Family, The Wild Party, You?re A Good Man, Charlie Brown). The benefit concert will take place in the Ars Nova theater on Monday, November 22 at 7:00pm.  Proceeds from the evening will help support Ars Nova?s extensive artistic development initiatives and programming. Tickets to the concert are scaled at $100 general admission, and $150 reserved admission, which includes priority seating and invitation to an exclusive artist cocktail party immediately following the performance in the Ars Nova Loft. This intimate "behind the music"-style evening will feature the Grammy-nominated star and special Broadway guests performing old treasures and never before heard songs. Lippa has been affiliated with Ars Nova since its birth, having been an Artist-in-Residence as well as a co-founder and curator of the company's emerging composer series Uncharted.  Mary-Mitchell Campbell (The Addams Family, Company), who also has a long affiliation with Ars Nova and has appeared on the company's stage, will Musical Direct the evening.
     
 Andrew Lippa is a composer, lyricist, book writer, performer and producer.  His New York theater credits include The Addams Family, The Wild Party (Manhattan Theatre Club); the score for Aaron Sorkin?s The Farnsworth Invention (Broadway), new songs for You?re A Good Man, Charlie Brown (Broadway); john & jen (co-written with Tom Greenwald).  Recordings: The Wild Party, john & jen, ...Charlie Brown, Julia Murney?s I?m Not Waiting, Bat Boy (producer) and the forthcoming A Little Princess (co-written with Brian Crawley).  Awards: 2000 Grammy nomination, winner of Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, ASCAP/Richard Rodgers and Gilman/Gonzalez-Falla Theater Foundation Awards.  As Kristin Chenoweth?s music director: Chicago, St. Louis and San Francisco Symphonies; Carnegie Hall; The Metropolitan Opera House, among others.  Upcoming projects: music/lyrics for The Man in the Ceiling (Disney Theatrical).
