Ashley Anderson has joined the national tour of Tony nominated Broadway musical comedy The Wedding Singer.

Ashley was recently a finalist on NBC's "Grease: You're The One That I Want."  Some of her other credits include Baby (Lizzie), Bye Bye Birdie (Kim MacAfee), Hello, Dolly! (Minnie Fay) and Our Town (Emily Webb).

Ashley joined the tour temporarily when one of the original cast members was injured and when it was discovered the recovery time was longer than expected, Ashley was offered a role with the company, and will understudy the role of Julia.  Ashley is joining her husband Ciaran Joseph McCarthy who is also in the cast of The Wedding Singer, and understudies the role of Robbie Hart.  

The Wedding Singer is based upon the 1998 hit film that starred Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore that grossed over $120 million worldwide.  Featuring a score by two of Broadway's young award-winning talents, composer Matthew Sklar and lyricist Chad Beguelin. With a book by Chad Beguelin and Tim Herlihy, the screenwriter of the hit movie, former "Saturday Night Live" head writer.

The Wedding Singer with original Broadway direction by Tony Award-winner John Rando, recreated by Paul Stancato; original Broadway choreography by Tony Award-winner Rob Ashford, recreated by Chris Bailey and Tony Award-winning set designer Scott Pask. 

The Wedding Singer began its National Tour in September and will be playing in 28 cities across the country through June of 2008.
