Alison Pill, who received a Tony nomination for her performance in The Lieutenant of Inishmore, has been confirmed to join Jeff Daniels (Fifth of July, films such as The Squid and the Whale) in the American premiere of David Harrower's drama Blackbird, which will begin previews on March 15th, 2007, and open on April 10th on Manhattan Theatre Club's Stage I.

"This powerful, volatile piece begins when Una shows up unexpectedly at the office of Ray, forcing Ray to come to terms with the effects of their relationship. Una pulls Ray into an encounter that is gripping, surprising and utterly unforgettable."  Tony Award-winner Joe Mantello (Wicked, Assassins) will direct the play, which previously received a critically acclaimed production in London.

Pill made her Broadway debut in The Lieutenant of Inishmore, but has previously been seen Off-Broadway in On the Mountain and The Distance from Here.  Her film credits include Dear Wendy, A Separate Peace, Pieces of April, and The Pilot's Wife, while TV credits include "Me and My Shadow: Life with Judy Garland" and "The Book of Daniel."
