The witty banter of the illustrious Round Table luncheons is celebrated in themusical The Talk of the Town, which continues its sell-out run in the Oak Room of the legendary Algonquin Hotel (59 West 44th Street).

Produced by The Peccadillo Theater Company, the production tells the story of the ten-year friendship of the wittiest literary characters of the 1920's, including Dorothy Parker, Robert Benchley, George S. Kaufman and Alexander Woollcott. The seven-member company is directed by Obie Award-winner Dan Wackerman, with movement by Mercedes Ellington, and features book, original lyrics and music by Ginny Redington and Tom Dawes.

"Chock full of the well-known quips, critiques and put-downs, The Talk of the Town traces the renowned skirmishes---romantic and otherwise---which originated during many meals at the famed dining table in the Algonquin Hotel," according to press notes.

The Talk of the Town plays Sunday evenings at 7:30PM and Monday evenings at 8:30PM. Tickets are $60 with a $20 food and beverage minimum charge. For tickets and more information phone SmartTix 212-868-4444 or log onto smarttix.com.
