Al Gore's documentary movie An Inconvenient Truth will soon be staged as an opera.  "La Scala officials say the Italian composer Giorgio Battistelli has been commissioned to produce an opera on the international multiformat hit for the 2011 season at the Milan opera house. The composer is currently artistic director of the Arena in Verona," state recent reports from Indy.com.

An Inconvenient Truth is an American documentary film about global warming, presented by former United States Vice President Al Gore and directed by Davis Guggenheim. The film premiered at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival and opened in New York and Los Angeles on May 24, 2006. The film was released on DVD by Paramount Home Entertainment on November 21, 2006. A companion book authored by Gore reached was released along with the film. The documentary won Academy Awards for Best Documentary Feature and for Best Original Song.
