Actors' Fund LA Tony Party Takes Place June 5, Stockard Channing Honored

The Actors' Fund Tony Party, hosted by Broadway star Jason Graae, will offer festivities to theatre-lovers in the Los Angeles area. The fete will take place at the Skirball Cultural Center on June 5th.

A live feed from New York will broadcast the Tonys to party-goers, while wine-tasting, a silent auction featuring Broadway memorabilia, hosted cocktails, and a gourmet dinner are also in the works.

Graae will entertain during commercial breaks, and Jo Anne Worley will host the short silent auction after the telecast.

The Actors' Fund of America has chosen Stockard Channing as this year's recipient of The Julie Harris Award for Lifetime Achievement for her long and distinguished acting career; good friend Elaine Stritch will present the award.

According to its website, "The Actors' Fund of America is a nonprofit organization founded in 1882 that provides for the social welfare of all entertainment professionals--designers, writers, sound technicians, musicians, dancers, administrators, directors, film editors, stagehands--as well as actors. Professionals in film, television, radio, theatre, dance and music all turn to The Actors' Fund in times of need. Headquarters and The Aurora Residence are located in New York City, with regional offices in Los Angeles and Chicago. The Lillian Booth Actors' Home of the Actors' Fund of America in Englewood, New Jersey. The Actors' Work Program has offices in New York and Los Angeles."

Doors for the Tony Party will open at 3:30 PM, and the dinner and telecast will begin at 5:00 PM. The Tonys, of course, will be broadcast on CBS at 8 PM on the East Coast. Hugh Jackman will host the ceremony at Radio City Music Hall.

Tickets to the Actor's Fund Tony Party are $200 each, and are available by calling (323) 933-9244 x35 or x5. Table prices, however, range from $2,000 to $5,000.
