Actors' Fund Holds Special Performances of Park & Purple

The Actors' Fund has announced two new Special Performances of Broadway shows.

On Sunday, May 21st at 7:30pm at the Cort Theatre, audiences will have a last chance to see the revival of Neil Simon's Barefoot in the Park, starring Amanda Peet, Patrick Wilson, Jill Clayburgh and Tony Roberts. The show is about a newlywed couple adjusting to life in New York and with each other, and is directed by Scott Elliott. The last performance of Barefoot in the Park will be a Special Performance benefiting The Actors' Fund.

On Tuesday, July 11th at 7:00pm at the Broadway Theatre, there will be a Special Performance of The Color Purple, the new musical based on the Pulitzer-Prize winning novel by Alice Walker and the film by Stephen Spielberg. Directed by Gary Griffin, it features a book by Marsha Norman, and a score by Brenda Russell, Allee Willis and Stephen Bray. The Color Purple stars LaChanze, Felicia P. Fields, Darlesia Cearcy, Brandon Dixon, Kingsley Leggs, Elisabeth Withers-Mendes and more.
