Adapted from the live show and the comedy album of the same name, the book version of his one-man Broadway show delves deeper into the subject of parenthood, digging into his darkest and funniest thoughts about the decision to have a child. Along with hilarious and poignant stories he has never shared before, the book also features poetry written by Birbiglia's wife and poet, Jen Stein.

Birbiglia adapted his acclaimed 2008 one-man show into this 2010 book which debuted at #29 on the hardcover nonfiction New York Times Bestseller List and number four on the hardcover nonfiction section of the Washington Post Political Bookworm Best Sellers.
