The satirical rock musical-revue 6 Women with Brain Death (or Expiring Minds Want to Know) will be performed as part of the New York Musical Theatre Festival at the 45th Street Theatre from September 26th through October 1st.

The show, which has had several successful regional productions and which was a winner at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, will be directed and choreographed by Marcia Milgrom Dodge (off-Bway: Cookin,' Closer Than Ever, Radio Gals). Presented by Jennifer Usdan and Amanda Woods of Jane Bergere Productions in association with NYMF, 6 Women with Brain Death will feature music and lyrics by Mark Houston, who is also a contributor to the show's book. His collaborators are Cheryl Benge, Christy Brandt, Rosanne E. Coppedge, Valerie Fagan, Ross Freese, Sandee Johnson and Peggy Pharr Wilson.

"Overweight Prom Queen Candidate Loses Crown! Housewife Keeps Severed Head On Cake Plate! Bambi Goes Haywire in Forest With Uzi! To the expiring mind of a modern American woman, life can read like a tabloid headline...A fast-paced, take-no-prisoners satire of life and pop culture, 6 Women with Brain Death is a wild and very left-of-center view of the world from an entirely feminine standpoint. In a series of bizarre but hysterical songs and sketches, the authors explore road rage, self-help books, TV soap operas, 'genuine press-on nails,' Barbie and Ken's secret fantasy life and what 'is' and 'is not' feminine – with an unforgettable detour through a forest where Bambi goes haywire with an Uzi," according to production notes.

6 Women with Brain Death will feature Cheryl Alexander (Caroline, or Change), Amorika Amoroso (Grease), Valerie Fagan (Forbidden Broadway), Joy Franz (Into the Woods), Leisa Mather (Forbidden Broadway) and Pearl Sun (Little Shop of Horrors).

The show's performance schedule is: Monday, Sept. 26th at 8 PM, Wednesday, Sept. 28th at 2 PM, Thursday, Sept. 29th at 1:30 PM, Friday, Sept. 30th at 4:30 PM, and Monday, Oct. 1st at 8 PM and 11 PM. Tickets, which are priced at $15, are available by calling 212-352-3101 beginning on August 29th. For more information, visit www.nymf.org.
