Dan's Papers, a tradition in the Hamptons for a half century, is celebrating its Golden Anniversary with a Cocktail Party and Art Show, entitled "Dan's Papers 50th Anniversary Celebration: 50 Years 50 Artists."

Dan's Papers, founded by best-selling author Dan Rattiner in 1960 as the first free resort newspaper in the United States, has long been sought after not only for its unique content, but for its unique approach to covers: Original works by local artists featured in full cover.

At "50 Years 50 Artists," Dan's Papers' most popular cover artists will be showcased in an art show that will include works by Peter Max, LeRoy Neiman, Mickey Paraskevas, Daniel Pollera, Ted Asnis, Giancarlo Impiglia, Hilary Knight and 43 others.

In addition, a new cover artist has been selected through a jury process that ended July 15th. Dan Rattiner and Kimberly Goff of the Elaine Benson Gallery will choose a winning painting, which will be featured as an upcoming Dan's Papers cover.

The event also features special auction items in fitting with the theme of unique, rare works of art. One incredibly lucky auction winner will get a one of a kind portrait by iconic 1960s artist Peter Max. Other auction items include autographed New York Knicks memorabilia; original cartoons and drawings by Dan Rattiner; original wearable art by Amy Zerner; and chic men's fashions by McKenzie Tribe. Hundreds of high end goodie-bags by Manhattan's Madison & Mulholland Agency, featuring items from MD Solar, Watkins Lotion, Peninsula Sap Gifts and others will be distributed to guests.
Those looking for a big party from Dan's Papers will have live music at the main event, an open bar, fabulous food by Tim Burke and later in the evening there is an After Party downstairs featuring live music by local musicians.

"50 Years 50 Artists" will benefit three of the East End's most valuable, unique assets: The East End Hospice, The Group for the East End, and Peconic Public Broadcasting 88.3FM. Billed as the most affordable benefit in the Hamptons, tickets are only $50 each.

On view at the event will be one-of-a- kind investment automobiles from Exotic Classic Cars. Bacardi Seven Tiki Spiced Rum will be the exclusive rum poured at the bar and at the Thos. Moser VIP lounge. Hamptons Television VVH-TV will film the event as it unfolds
