Day 9 Cyclops: A Rock Opera

By Louis Butelli

Executive Director, Psittacus Productions

Director, CYCLOPS: A Rock Opera
I'm a theater guy, through and through. Nothing I've done in my career to date could have prepared me to take on the five-ring circus that is CYCLOPS: A Rock Opera.
Theater types are crazy. CYCLOPS is a Rock Show. I am here to tell you that musicians have a crazy about them which puts theater practitioners to shame.
Perhaps you've come across this phrase: "It's like herding cats."

Here are some other phrases that have become a part of my life in producing and directing an evening of Rock and Roll Musical Theater, based on an Ancient Greek Satyr Play.
"Sure, I suppose we could try to arrange for a Stargate."

"I know that noon is crazy early, but...."

"Is that bottle of Jack Daniels a new prop?"

"You know, you're right. Burning sage really does alter the vibe here at the theater."
I am beyond excited for you to meet these amazing creatures, these Satyrs. They are soul, and sex, and heart simultaneously. I couldn't be more proud of them, and I couldn't be happier with the face-melting evening we have put together for you to enjoy.

If you've ever been fucked up at a rock show and done something you've lived to regret, if you've ever been brought to a state of ecstasy in communion with favorite musicians, if you believe that the theatrical form still has its roots in a communal, Dionysian vibe, come hang with us.

We will absolutely show you a kick ass time.
