"I am so proud of that cast. I am so happy for them all. I was watching the announcement live and it was hysterical because Lisa, who lives in Brooklyn, was streaming it and there was a delay and an echo. So I would give a shout and then she would give a shout and then my new puppy would give a shout. And when I saw all three Alisons had been recognized I lost my voice because I screamed so loud and the puppy literally fell off the bed cartoon-style.

It's so great for us as a whole. You know we made the show as a team and the team worked really well together. We all got on the same page right away and with any team, even with field hockey or soccer, you don't get there alone. And we got there with integrity, a good sense of humor and a bottle of bourbon and we just worked. And I'm so proud of the subject matter, and we had a beautiful book to work with and a real family, so there was pressure to make it as good as people felt when they read the book and they did.

As far as celebrating, well the great thing about having a new puppy, I just picked up some poop, some pee and a little vomit so it keeps me real! I'm working on City Center now so I'm going to take a day to just breathe and be happy for everyone. "
