2012 Steinberg Playwright 'Mimi' Awards Honoring David Henry Hwang Postponed

Previously scheduled for this coming Monday, October 29, 2012 at 7:30 p.m., the 2012 Harold and Mimi Steinberg Charitable Trust's presentation of the Steinberg Distinguished Playwright Award to David Henry Hwang at the Lincoln Center Theater has been postponed to a later date due to expected weather conditions. The new date and further details will be announced shortly.

On its rescheduld date, the event will feature performances by Jennifer Lim, Ben Stiller, Julyana Soelistyo and John Rubinstein. Also slated to attend are Lynn Nottage, William Ivey Long, David Adjmi, Alma Cuervo, Lisa D’Amour, Lydia Diamond, Oskar Eustis, Melissa James Gibson, Anne Kauffman, Kathryn Layng, Robert LuPone, Karen Mason, Bruce Norris, Theresa Rebeck, Leigh Silverman, Vivienne Tam, Frank Wildhorn, Bess Wohl, and many others.

The Harold and Mimi Steinberg Charitable Trust’s Board of Directors consists of: Carole A. Krumland, James D. Steinberg, Michael A. Steinberg, Seth M. Weingarten and William D. Zabel.

The Steinberg Playwright Awards Advisory Committee consists of: Susan Booth, Jeremy Cohen, Kwame Kwei-Armah, Todd London, Lynne Meadow, Neil Pepe and Bill Rauch.

The Mimi Awards promote theater as a vital part of our culture by nurturing American Playwrights and encouraging the development and production of new American plays. The Steinberg Distinguished Playwright Award is presented biennially to honor and encourage the artistic excellence and achievement of an American playwright whose body of work has made significant contributions to the American theater.
