2009 River To River Festival - Brian Stokes Mitchell Summer Concert runs Wednesday, June 1, 2009
7:00 pm at Rockefeller Park (North end of Battery Park City, at the corners of River Terrace and Warren St.)
The River To River Festival is New York's largest free summer arts festival.
Brian Stokes Mitchell is the premier male star of the Broadway stage over the last two decades. Also a star of TV and film, his Broadway credits include Mail (1988), an all-black revival of George Gershwin's Oh, Kay! (1990), Jelly's Last Jam (1992), the 1999 revival of Cole Porter's Kiss Me, Kate, King Hadley II (2001) and Man of La Mancha (2002). He is a four time Tony Award winner - three for Best Leading Actor in a musical (Ragtime, Kiss Me Kate, and Man of La Mancha) and one for Best Leading Actor in a Play (King Hedley II). In 2007, Brian Stokes Mitchell made his acclaimed Carnegie Hall debut.
