On December 7-11, 2017 in the United States, an event of unity, resistance, and healing will take place in 12 cities across the country, bringing together women of all walks of life to share their personal stories about sexual harassment, rape, abuse and assault . The #MeToo Monologues will take place in theaters and public spaces throughout America, where groups of 6-10 women will share monologues about how being sexually violated has affected them.

Conceived by Mary Rives and Tanya Taylor Rubinstein and produced with the help of dozens of volunteer coordinators and facilitators across the country, the work stems from Rubinstein's StoryHealers Transformational Monologue process. Rubinstein has facilitated this process with hundreds of groups, including people who have experienced cancer, veterans, caregivers and hospice workers, LGBTQ youth and Israeli and Palestinian young women. After witnessing so many women coming out with their stories of sexual violation, Rubinstein and Rives decided that something needed to be done to help people heal individually and collectively through the power of storytelling, writing, and performance.

Join us in Santa Fe at Teatro Paraguas on Monday, December 11, 2017, as courageous women share their stories after an intensive writing workshop co-facilitated by Mary Rives and Marsha Pincus.

The Me Too Monologues is an opportunity to hear different perspectives and experiences on a personal level . The aim is to humanize one another and offer a safe space for people to process through their intense feelings around sexual violence . All stories will be respected in this environment. We invite the press and the community to attend this once-in-a-lifetime event.

Details for our city are included here. Proceeds from each event will be donated to organizations that support women-focused organizations and politicians who support women's rights as well as to to organizations that help girls become strong leaders , especially the originator of the #MeToo Movement, Ms. Tarana Burke.
