Albuquerque Theatre Guild proudly announces the winners of its 2010-11 Youth Theatre Scholarships. This program, now in its second year, helps children and youth learn about live theatre by providing scholarships for them to participate in extra-curricular theatre-education programs offered by Albuquerque Theatre Guild member organizations. Albuquerque Mayor Richard Berry will present the awards to the six recipients at a press conference on Wednesday, June 16 at 3 p.m. in the Mayor's Conference Room, 11th floor, 1 Civic Plaza.

"We're delighted that these young people will have the opportunity to learn more about the art and craft of live theatre," says Hugh Witemeyer, President of the Albuquerque Theatre Guild. "They are the future of acting and stage craft in Albuquerque and we're pleased to be able to support them with our second year of scholarships."

Each scholarship is valued at $100 and must be used between June 1, 2010 and May 31, 2011. Current or prior enrollment in theatre-education programs is not required.
