Angry Manatee Productions presents "Bash" by Neil LaBute, a series of three one act plays that explore the darkest limits of the human mind on Friday, November 6 and Saturday, November 7 at the Black Box Theatre, 430 N Downtown Mall in Las Cruces. In "Iphigenia in Orem," starring Matt Jones and directed by Sean Dolan, a man ruins his family based on a practical joke, thinking that personal tragedy would give him a leg up on keeping his job. In "A Gaggle of Saints," starring Sean Dolan and Rebecca MacCallum and directed by Matt Jones, a young couple discover they are what they hate, the young man even going so far as to destroy an object of that hate. In "Medea Redux", starring Mandy Guitar and directed by Rebecca MacCallum, a young teenage girl falls in love with her teacher and years later, takes her revenge on him in the classically horrifying Medea style.

This play premiered at the Douglas Fairbanks Theater in New York City on June 24, 1999. Matt Jones, with a growing admiration for Neil LaBute's edgy work, wanted to do this show because it dives head first into the minds of the normal everyday person and shows exactly what they are truly capable of, even while it makes little effort to give a rational explanation for the actions of its
characters.

The cast are all students/former students of NMSU's Theater Arts program and have performed multiple shows there. Most recently Matt Jones has been in "Pixie," "She Stoops to Conquer," "The Taming of the Shrew," and is in pre-production of "Seussical." Sean Dolan, also a CMI major at NMSU, has been in "Pixie," "She Stoops to Conquer," and "Cinderella," and has directed multiple movies through his CMI program. Mandy Guitar has been in "Reckless," "Radio TBS," and "The Taming of the Shrew." Rebecca MacCallum has been in "Reckless," "Radio TBS," and "A Christmas Carol," and has directed "Cinderella," "Wicked Phantastic," and "A Walk in the Desert."

The performances are Friday, November 6 at 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, November 7 at 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Admission is $5.00 for regular admission and $3.00 for students. Reservations may be made by calling the theatre at (575) 523-1223.
