AMP Concerts Celebrates 10 Years as a Non Profit with $100,000 Fundraising Push

By:

AMP Concerts, the largest non-profit music promoter in the state, is celebrating their 10th year as a non-profit by raising $100,000 to serve even more people across the state of New Mexico. The organization produces roughly 150 events annually with 50 being free community events. In 2016 alone, free events were attended by more than 11,000 people in Albuquerque and Santa Fe. In its 10-year history as a non-profit, AMP has produced 250 free community events that were attended by over 65,000 people.

"A very important part of our mission is to produce shows that can be attended by everyone in our community," said Neal Copperman, Executive Director of AMP Concerts. "With cuts to the arts programs in the schools, these programs are more important than ever. For some young people, an AMP concert is their first exposure to a live show and hopefully a spark that ignites a lifetime of music appreciation."

To kick off the fundraising, AMP Concerts will be the featured non-profit beneficiary at all Whole Foods locations on Wednesday, March 29th in Santa Fe and Albuquerque. Five percent of the day's sales will benefit AMP Concerts. Additionally AMP will have musicians performing at noon and again at 6 p.m. at the Academy Whole Foods in Albuquerque and the Cerrillos store in Santa Fe. Featured performers will include Bébe La La, Lone Piñon, Golden General and Alto Estillo. The money raised will be used to produce and promote various free community events across the state of New Mexico.

"If you love free community concerts and movies, come shop at Whole Foods and help AMP Concerts bring those programs to you!" Copperman added.
