William Shakespeare's Reimagined in a post-apocalyptic setting, this Shakespearean epic unfolds amidst the madness of a world in ruins. As Lear descends into insanity and his daughters' ambitions spiral out of control, visual echoes of a lost world are supported by themes of power, betrayal and excessive pride with an abdication of responsibility. Director Brant Eustice says, “There is an enormous joy to be found in Shakespeare’s universal themes and a brilliance in his writing which not only allows, but also encourages theatregoers to continue exploring the depth, complexity and beauty of his stories in new and original styles. Due to a global calamity, civilisation as we currently view it has collapsed and has returned to the ways of a distant past. We find ourselves in a world which is slowly trying to rebuild itself.” Featuring Michael Eustice as Lear, with Robert Baulderstone, Imogen Deller-Evans, Sean Flierl, Rebecca Kemp, Mike Leach, Sharon Malujlo, Harry Passehl, Geoff Revell, Tony Sampson, Georgia Stockham, Rhoda Sylvester, Tom Tassone, Tracey Walker, Mick Young and Lizzie Zeuner.
