Patch Theatre Company Implements a Creative Education Partnership with Sturt Street Primary School

Leading South Australian children's theatre company, Patch Theatre, have again demonstrated why they are the kings of creativity when it comes to specialising in theatre for 3 - 8 year olds. With funding assistance through Arts SA, Patch have partnered with Sturt Street Community School to establish a creative education partnership and 12-month Artist in Residence program at the school where students get to meaningfully participate in the company's art-making adventures as co-creators in and around their performance experiences.

Renee Gentle (The Call, Boxing Day Test) plays Alex a city girl who travels from suburbia to outback Australia on a road trip with a twist. Riding her bicycle doctors, drunkards, and dangerously disarming characters enter and exit Alex's world as rapidly as her pedals turn.

World-renowned abstract electronic composer Lee Gamble (UK) will be replacing The Haxan Cloak at Adelaide Festival's experimental electronic music festival Unsound Adelaie due to unforeseen circumstances. Gamble is set to appear Friday, March 7 at Queen's Theatre, in a line up including Morton Subotnick (USA), Nurse With Wound (UK) and Cut Hands (UK).

This year at Adelaide Fringe, Ink Pot Arts will offer the restaging of their highly successful production Through The Looking Glass at the Waldorf Living Art Centre from March 1 to 8 and a new community initiative in their Creative Hub called Cultivating Creativity. Thanks to a partnership with The District Council of Mt Barker and StoryTeller Multimedia & Events, Cultivating Community is an effort to held patrons connect with the arts and their own imaginations while at Fringe.

Performer and Director Nicholas Cannon, has travelled a long way since his days as a kid growing up in the Adelaide Hills. Following his graduation from WAAPA he studied the prestigious Jacques Lecoq Technique in Paris and Barcelona. Most recently, with the support of Arts SA, Nicholas undertook a Professional Theatre Internship at Coburg Landestheater in Germany, where he worked as an Assistant Director and managed to fit in performing a number of Baritone roles for the German Opera Company while there also.

The popular Lunchtimes at Elder Hall resumes for 2014 at 1.10pm Friday 28 February with the elegant ensemble: Ensemble Galante performing music by Jean-Phillipe Rameau composed for Madame de Pompadour in the 18th century. This captivating music is very French, it is after all about love. The Surprises of Love performed by six acclaimed musicians, many on Baroque instruments will sweep you away with romanticism, the elan and savoir faire of the French court. After four years touring Australia and the world, A Solitary Choice returns to South Australian audiences with its Adelaide Fringe premiere. The poignant comedy will perform for one night only at the 48 Lounge (The Big Slapple) Adelaide Convention Centre at 8pm on Wednesday Feb 26. This all SA production, written by local author Sheila Duncan, stars Adelaide favorite Tamara Lee and is directed by Michael Allen and has performed to standing ovations on three separate continents.
